Our Story

Vanilla Etc was founded in 2011 by former chef Graham Bruce.

“I started cooking in my parent’s pub, back in the 60’s – a gastropub before its time. It was my mum that first got me hooked on cooking – she was an amazing pastry chef. My lifelong love of vanilla started with a bite of one of her heavenly vanilla meringues and a slurp of her to-die-for custard.”

Throughout Graham’s career, he always found it hard to source high-quality vanilla products for his cooking. This source of frustration is what started our journey of importing high-quality vanilla products to the UK.

In 2018/2019 Graham’s two daughters Alexandra and Natalie joined the family venture. The business has grown organically from the beginning and as a family, we are excited for what the future of Vanilla Etc holds.

In October 2019 we moved into a brand new purpose-built Unit in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Our aim is to become the UK’s best Supplier of Quality Vanilla, with the ability to supply Europe and the Rest of the World…

This might sound ambitious but it’s easier when you are doing what you love!!!

Since moving premises, we have upgraded our facilities to included a full Mezzanine. This has given us extra room for production and allowed some automation of processes. Soon we will be able to mill our Vanilla beans into powder ourselves. This may also lead to providing milling services for others businesses too.

With our current project of introducing a dedicated retail brand well underway (Bonilla-Vanilla), we hope to soon be available in Supermarkets and other retail outlets such as Farm Shops and Delis.
